Many parties act together to resolve a conflict or issue.
Can depend on one another in need.
2. Canadians came together to help stranded people and saved many lives. The Government gave support for the stranded people by send military helicopters and personnel.
3. If we were to take multilaterism in this situation, we will be able to depend on one another in need. In this case, it involves the weather. We all come together to provide each other will the things to help us survive. Countries give one another needs that we are unable to get ourselves so we trade. These trades can involve, food, supplies, and clothing for conditions like this. So many people freeze to death because they do not have proper shelter or warm clothes. Our countries can come together to provide these necessities for the people in our countries,
4. if we chose to not go with multilateralism many people could still be stranded or worse even dead. Multilateralism is the act of everyone coming together for one just cause. The cause in this is the huge winter storm that is happening in Ontario. Everyone coming together in this way causes closer relationships between people in the country and makes our country stronger economically militarily and personally.
Current EventsOctober 15, 2010Site: http://www.cbc.ca/worl/story/2010/10/15/chile-miner-release.html?ref=rss I was reading an article that I had came across when looking at the CBC news and it really showed what was happening in the world. It showed what to be thankful for and who. You realize you can loose someone so close, so fast. Miners had been working more than 600 metres underground when the mine had collapsed and they were stranded for two months. Although, no one was hurt a medical team had been able to keep a good eye on them. They were able to monitor their health and diet. The article also adds that thirty-three miners were released from the hospital of Copiapo, more to be realesed from Chile and twenty others are to be released over the weekend. For now none of the miners are talking but the doctors have stated that they are in excellent condition. Dr. Jean Romagnoli had said that the miners might experience some long-term psychological issues, but will recover well because they had such great support from the surface. The challenge’s that they have all gone through is unbelievable and the memories will always be with them.
I believe that this one event will have a big impact on the world and especially the miners as they have been through so much so fast. I personally think that this event was unbelievable. They are so lucky for making it out and having a great rescue team on the surface to watch over them. I could not imagine what they have all gone through over the two months, including their families. The things they had to do and the families that were 600 metres above them felt. I chose this article because it interest me. It interest me because I am interested in the field work and knowing the past experiences helps me realize how hard and dangerous it may be to do something like this. Current EventsSept. 24, 2010Site: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11407326 When reading the BBC news, I noticed that the story was about the 9/11. President Obama had been broadcasting to Persain which also is shown to Iran and Afghanistan. A gentleman by the name of Mr. Ahmadinejad have a speech at the UN General Assembly which, consisted of a walkout. Mr. Obama had stated that it was inexcusable to make such remarks to New York itself and had committed for America to reach out for the people of Iran along with not abandoning Afghanistan even if it meant that the US began cutting it's forces there next year. The US fears that Iran's uranium program is a cover to build atomic weapons, a charge that the Iranian officials deny. President Obama signed into a new law sanctions against Iran attempting to cut off the development of their nuclear programs in July. There is measures that the foreign companies that trade with Iran were overwhelmingly approved by the US congress. Mr. Obama said that "The sanctions would strike at heart" of Iran's ability to fund and develop nuclear programs. This effects more than myself because like what Obama had said about how it was inexcusable for another president to say those things were true because what people were saying about the 9/11 was unfortunate because these were the people from Manhattan who lived so close to the loved ones who were killed on that day. I feel that it is wrong to say such wrong when the people who are talking have not lost a love one because of it. They do not know what it feels like, they don't care but they should because it all involves us. What effects one of us, effects all of us. I picked this article because it motivates me, it makes me realize what people have gone through and yet others couldn't care less. It's disturbing. I am glad that Obama is trying to help yet dissapointed that another president would do the opposite. Maybe it's because it did not happen to is country or because he does not care and is sticking up for the culture that did it. It was a sad day and we will all hopefully remember the people who lost their lives in a good way. Assignment #1- The French Revolution Sept. 22, 2010 It has been the start of very many cold and dark days. People are fighting, starving and wanting things to change. We had came across three individuals from the three different estates who were willing to share their views of what was happening now. "There are two levels of The Clergy. The higher and lower. I come from the lower." Jaqous, 32 stated. When asked what The Clergy was known for he replied with, "We are known for our humbleness, poorly paid and generally hard-working tactics. The higher Clergy however, is more of the wealth. The priest resents them because of their wealth and religious superiors." How much they do run of the French lands, he replied with 10-15%. Adrienne had a different view and was a part of The Commoners. "There is more than just The Commoners. It includes the bourgeoisie, peasants and city workers. The bourgeoisie, also known as the middle class, are by far the wealthiest. They are the merchants, manufacturers, lawyers, doctors, and so on. As for a peasant like me, well, I am part of the largest group within the third estate. I am forced to pay more taxes, tithes to the church, and rent to the landlord for the land that I live on. It is a very hard life style to adapt to but I have grown up with this lifestyle. It's hard to even buy bread and that is what we mostly rely on. As for the cityworkers, they are the servants, apprentices and household maids." Aubert was a noble. Nobles have special rights and privledges. "We make up over 25% of the population and are characterized by our great land wealth." When asked about taxes, he replied that they pay hardly any taxes. "Most people say that we are the wealthiest in our society. Our typical sources of incomes are our rents and dues for the use of our farms or estates." As for our three estates, each person still has a difficult part that they have to overcome either it be starvation, fighting, taking or making orders. This is a time where everyone needs hope to make it farther for their families and themselves. -Christina Labenovich
